The Scout is a children's racing-cut leather jacket in 100% top-grain cowhide at 1.1–1.2mm, drum dyed. Nothing about the build is downgraded for being a kids' size — same hide weight, same YKK hardware, same armour pockets as the adult jackets.

Removable CE certified armour is included at the shoulders and elbows, with a removable soft-plate back protector. Level 1 or Level 2 is chosen above. One thing worth stating plainly: the CE certification belongs to the armour inserts, not to the leather shell — the shell is not a certified garment and we do not claim it is.

Stretch panels at the shoulders and elbows keep a heavy hide from restricting a small rider. Sizes run 4–16 years, or choose custom-made and we will cut it to their measurements.

Close them down over a glove so the sleeve stops riding up.

Two external zipped pockets and one inner right pocket. Front zip fastening.

Zips take the most abuse on a children's jacket, so these are the proper ones.

Water-Resistant And Windproof

Sheds a shower and cuts the wind chill. Leather is not a wet-weather suit — for sustained rain, layer over the top.

Age labels are a starting point, not a measurement. Measure the child's chest at the fullest point in centimetres, over whatever they will wear underneath, and take the sleeve from the shoulder bone to the wrist. Try not to buy two sizes ahead to make it last: armour only does its job when it sits on the shoulder and elbow, and in an oversized jacket it slides off the joint. Send us the measurements and we will confirm the size — or choose custom-made.
