The Vanguard Softshell is the weather-ready member of the Vanguard family. The outer is a water-resistant, wind-blocking softshell with reflective detailing, it is reinforced with 220gsm genuine DuPont™ Kevlar® aramid, and it carries removable CE certified armour at the shoulders, elbows and back. Sleeve vents let heat out on warmer rides.

Choose Black, or Black & Grey Reflective for extra visibility after dark. Pick your colour, size and armour above. It is a stocked, standard-size garment (not made-to-measure) in 20 sizes from XS to 8XL including tall cuts, and it ships free Australia-wide.

Every armour option is CE certified to EN 1621, the standard for motorcycle impact protectors. Level 1 is the standard rating; Level 2 transmits less force in the test and is the higher rating.

⚠️ Our Honest Sizing Advice

Measure your chest at the fullest point and your belly at the widest point, and use whichever is larger to pick your size. It is cut to be worn over a t-shirt with the armour fitted. Between sizes, the smaller size gives a snug, secure fit; the larger gives more room for layers. Tall (-T) sizes add body and sleeve length for the same chest range. Not sure? How to measure a hoodie laid flat: A half chest, B half hem, C back length, D sleeve length, E half cuff, F shoulder

Compare these with a jacket or hoodie you already own. Lay it flat and zipped on a table and measure with a tape: A across the chest just under the armpits, B across the bottom edge (the softshell has no rib band), C from the top of the shoulder down to the hem, D from the shoulder point to the end of the cuff, E across the cuff opening, F across the back from one shoulder seam to the other. "½" means the flat width, one side only. Tall (-T) sizes are longer in the body and sleeves and, from L-T up, a little wider in the chest: see the tall table.

No. The softshell is water resistant: it sheds light rain and showers. In steady rain, wear a rain layer over it.
