The Military Style Denim Jacket is the one you can ride in and then walk into a pub without looking like you are still on the bike. A canvas denim outer with military-inspired patches on both sleeves and one on the chest, and removable CE certified armour underneath it — including a soft plate at the back, so there is no rigid slab pressing into your spine when you sit down.

Inside there are two linings doing two jobs: a quilted lining for warmth and a waterproof lining behind it. A drawcord pulls the waist in, brass buttons close the cuffs, and the full-length YKK zip is backed by a brass-button storm fastening.

Armour only works where it is meant to sit, so a jacket that is loose through the shoulders is not doing its job. Not sure? Weather — straight answer: This jacket has a waterproof lining inside it. The outer is canvas denim, which is not a laminated waterproof shell — so treat it as a jacket that will get you through a shower and a cold morning, not as wet-weather touring kit for a day of rain.
