Armoured Hoodies Sizing

Vanguard™ zip, pullover and Softshell hoodies. Pick your size from your body measurements: chest and belly, and the bigger number picks your size. Garment measurements (laid flat) for each hoodie are further down.

How to measure

TWO MEASUREMENTS, BIGGER NUMBER WINS

Take two measurements over a t-shirt: chest and belly. Find the row where your larger number fits. The Vanguard is cut to be worn with the armour fitted, so you do not need to size up for it. Between sizes? Smaller for a snug, secure fit; larger for more room. Tall (-T) sizes add body and sleeve length on the same chest range.

CChestTape around the fullest part of your chest, under the armpits, parallel to the ground. Relaxed, not puffed out.
BBellyTape around the widest part of your stomach, usually at or just below the navel. Do not hold it in: this is the number that keeps the zip comfortable.
TTall or regular?If hoodie sleeves and body length usually run short on you, choose the Tall (-T) size: same chest range, longer body and sleeves. Otherwise stay with Regular.

TWO HOODIES MEASURE DIFFERENTLY

Softshell: no rib band at the hem, so ½ hem (B) is wider: XS 51, S 53.5, M 56, L 58.5, XL 62, 2XL 66, 3XL 70, 4XL 73.5, 5XL 77.5, 6XL 81.5, 7XL 85, 8XL 89 cm; tall M-T 56, L-T 59.5, XL-T 65, 2XL-T 70, 3XL-T 75, 4XL-T 80, 5XL-T 85, 6XL-T 90 cm. Pullover in Jet Black Reflective: an oversize, down-shoulder cut, wider in the chest and shoulders. Its own garment chart is on the pullover's product page.

COMPARE WITH A HOODIE YOU OWN

Lay a hoodie you already own flat and zipped and measure with a tape: A across the chest just under the armpits, B across the bottom band, C top of the shoulder to the hem, D shoulder point to the end of the cuff, E across the cuff opening, F shoulder seam to shoulder seam across the back. "½" means the flat width, one side only. Tall (-T) sizes are longer in the body and sleeves and, from L-T up, a little wider in the chest: see the tall table.

Worked example: chest 104 cm, belly 110 cm. The belly is the bigger number, so go by belly: 110 fits "up to 114", which is XL. If your belly is 108 and chest 104, both fit L. Still unsure? Message us both numbers and your height and we will confirm before you order.

How to measure

GARMENT MEASUREMENTS, NOT BODY MEASUREMENTS

These are garment measurements, taken with the shirt laid flat. Double the ½ Chest figure to get the shirt's full chest. For a comfortable fit with the armour in, your own chest measurement should be roughly 10 to 15 cm less than that figure. Between sizes, go up one if you wear a hoodie or thicker layer underneath. Sleeves always short on you? Choose a Tall (-T) size. Not sure? Send us your chest measurement and height before you order and we will confirm the size.

COMPARE WITH A SHIRT YOU OWN

Lay a shirt that fits you well flat and buttoned on a table, measure it with a tape and compare: A across the chest just under the armpits, B across the bottom edge, C from the collar seam down the back to the hem, D from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff, E across the back from one shoulder seam to the other, F across the sleeve at the widest part of the upper arm.
