Why riders choose an armoured motorcycle hoodie

Side by side with a normal hoodie, you can't pick it. That's the point. The difference is what's inside: a Kevlar® aramid layer that resists abrasion, armour pockets that hold CE certified protectors over the joints, and a garment that has been tested as a complete piece of riding gear.

Vanguard™ · Men's Kevlar® Armoured Motorcycle Zip Hoodie

Our honest sizing advice: Measure your chest at the fullest point and your belly at the widest point. Use whichever is larger to pick your size. The Vanguard is cut to be worn over a t-shirt with the armour fitted, so the fit already allows for it. Between sizes? The smaller size gives a snug, secure fit; the larger size gives more room to move. Tall (-T) sizes add body and sleeve length for the same chest range. Size by tape measure, not by habit

A riding hoodie should sit snugger than a fashion hoodie so the armour stays over your joints. Measure your chest and your belly, and choose the size where the larger number fits. Every Vanguard comes in 20 sizes, XS to 8XL, including tall sizes that add body and sleeve length for the same chest.

Is a Kevlar motorcycle hoodie actually protective?

A good one is. The Vanguard zip and pullover hoodies are fully lined with 220gsm DuPont™ Kevlar® aramid and rated Class AA to EN 17092-3, the European standard for motorcycle riders' garments, with removable armour certified to EN 1621. The certificate is published on each product page.

What is the difference between Class AA and CE armour?

EN 17092 rates the whole garment for abrasion, seam strength and tear strength. EN 1621 rates the impact protectors inside it. The zip and pullover carry both. The softshell carries CE certified EN 1621 armour and Kevlar® reinforcement, but not a garment rating.

Is the softshell waterproof?

No. It is water resistant: it sheds light rain and showers. In steady rain, wear a rain layer over it.

How long does delivery take?

Lead time is approximately 15 to 19 business days. Delivery is free Australia-wide, and tracking is emailed as soon as your order ships.

Can I return it if it doesn't fit?

Yes. Standard stock items can be returned or exchanged within 30 days of delivery under our Refund Policy, unworn and with tags attached. Please check the size guide before ordering.
